The trail begins with a long gentle hike up a forest road. Eventually you will have to follow the signs to Boegoekloof and Suicide Gorge.
When you have reached the beginning of the Boegoekloof: do NOT cross the river as that path leads to Suicide Gorge. At the bridge that crosses the stream, drop down into the stream and turn right. Hike along the stream for some distance until you reach the first of a series of pools in the kloof. You have have no option but to swim through them.
Eventually you will reach a confluence of the Boegoe and the Riviersonderend rivers. Do not turn left down the Riviersonderend but keep to the right and start climbing up from pool to pool until you reach a shallow area with a koppie on your right. Just past this koppie you will need to climb out of the river and head back to the track which leads back to your car.
There is a pool near this junction where you, on the way into the kloof, you can hide your day pack take only a small waterproof pack with you for your lunch and some water). The water in the kloof is good to drink. On the way back, don’t forget to collect your day pack.
